Guillermo Vargas Habacuc

I just received a forwarded email on a self-professed “artist” named Guillermo Vargas Habacuc from San Jose, who took a dog from the street, tied him to a rope in an art gallery, starving him to death. He named his "exhibition" in Managua, Nicaragua, "Eres Lo Que Lees" ("You Are What You Read").

For several days, the "artist" and patrons of the exhibition have watched emotionless the shameful "masterpiece" based on the dog's agony, until it eventually died. I am not posting any pics here because I will die if I have to see pics of the poor dog again.

Does this sound like art to you?

I guess it must be when you are a nobody with zero talent on the brink of desperation to carve a name for your non-existent self at the age of 50. For fame's sake, some artists committed suicide. Our friend Guillermo Bastardo chose to torture defenceless animals. And the so-called art enthusiasts are just ignorant people standing by and pretending to understand art when it's obviously animal cruelty. I applaud those who actually took pictures and started a petition but the rest are just a bunch of losers with no life.

But this is not all... the prestigious Visual Arts Biennial of the Central American decided that the "installation" was actually art, so that Guillermo Vargas Habacuc has been invited to repeat his cruel action for the Biennial of 2008.

Let's STOP HIM!!!!!
